My journey towards becoming a book indexer began in my childhood, during which I would pore over nonfiction children’s books about history. In college, I studied both history and elementary education, excited to share my love of learning with the next generation. After earning a master’s degree in elementary education, I taught kindergarten in a variety of school settings, ranging from a Title I school to a homeschool hybrid academy. Although I am now a full-time book indexer, I stay involved with education by volunteering at a local elementary school library.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Mustafa, and we live in Forest, Virginia. In my spare time, I sing in a church choir and a community chorus. I also still enjoy reading for fun, especially memoirs. Reading about people whose experiences differ from my own is eye-opening to me. I don’t often get to index memoirs, but would be thrilled by the opportunity to do so.
